Bidding for Properties

We add new properties to our website as they become available. That means that you will see properties available regardless of which day you visit the website.

To help you find the property you want, you can set up an email alert so you can receive notification of when a property that is suitable for you is advertised on the website. Properties will be advertised for a minimum of five days and bids must be placed by 11.59pm on the day that bidding closes.

You will still be able to place up to three bids at any one time.

Setting up an Email Alert

Follow these quick and easy steps and you need never miss tjhe property you're looking for.

  1. Login to the Home-Options website
  2. Click on the 'Your Property Alerts' button
  3. Set up your property alerts, choosing an area in which you want to live, the type(s) of property and the number of bedrooms and whether the property is adapted
  4. Choose between daily or weekly alerts
  5. Click 'save' and keep an eye on your email - you'll receive a notification when a matching property is advertised.

You can update your alerts at any time by logging back in to the Home-Options website and changing the details of your search. To cancel the alerts, change the frequency of your alerts to 'No alerts' and click 'save'.

Please note: While you can set up your email alerts to search for any type of property you want, there are limits as to what properties you can bid for. See 'What can you bid for' on your Home-Options homepage.

How to Bid

The quickest and easiest way to bid is to sign in to your Home-Options account and then go the 'View Homes' page to browse the available properties. Click on the advert to see details of the properties. If it's a property that you're interested in, click the 'Place Bid' button to register your interest.

Please note that when you bid on a property, you are agreeing for your information to be shared with the landlord so they can shortlist the bids. If you do not want your data to be shared with that landlord, then please do not bid upon their properties. In addition, please check that you meet any local connection requirements. If you don't, you are unlikely to be considered for that property and your bid will be wasted.

Once you are logged in, you can also click on 'Your Account' to see your current bids as well as feedback on previous bids.
